Experiments in Freedom was founded by Sesalli Castillo & Syon Davis in 2021.

We set out to create a human-centered business that allows us to use our unique skills and gifts to help actualize the world that we want to bring to fruition.

We spend most of our time strategic planning with values-aligned organizations, hosting herbalism & art workshops, faciliating staff retreats, making short films, and producing community wellness events. You can click here to read more about our work.

SYON (THEY/SHE/HE)

Syon is an artist, facilitator, & strategist who is passionate about working with individuals and organizations to divest from exploitative systems and shift towards more expansive self-definitions and pleasure-centered ways of being. Syon has a deep commitment to process and loves supporting teams in revamping their operations systems and making big decisions. Syon has 10 years of experience as an operations and culture professional working with start-ups, small businesses, nonprofit and grassroots organizations. SESALLI (THEY/SHE)

Sesalli is a queer Chicanx artist and herbalist who loves to play with paint, collage, textiles, film & plants. Her work is deeply connected to the earth and guided by spirit. Having studied plant medicine under various teachers, she now provides community care through herbal formulations and consultations. She thrives in bringing big ideas into the tangible, with over a decade of experience producing anything from intimate events to large scale, international music festivals. Through film production, she aims to tell stories that expand upon what is deemed beautiful and important. As an artist, she hopes to inspire others to further their imaginations of what’s possible and enjoy the pleasures of creativity through genuine connection.
